Community Financial Assistance Program At the December 2023 Council meeting, Council approved 12 projects totaling $94,723 under an additional round of the 2023/24 Blayney Shire Community Financial Assistance Program. The projects approved include: Anglican Parish of Blayney, Engage Expert for Moisture Issues - $3,000 Carcoar PA&H Society, Replace power pole and electrical outlet at flagpole at Carcoar Showground - $6,928 Carcoar Community Association, River Yarn Fibre Festival - $1,200 Milthorpe CWA Branch, Building of a new front fence including double gates - $3,000 A Conversation with the GM Mark Dicker Blayney Shire Council Lyndhurst Village Committee, Replacement of Battery in Defibrilator in hall foyer - $415 Hobbys Yards Community Association, Outdoor seating for the hall- $2,246 Bakers Shaft Reserve, Purchase of BBQ's and installation at Bakers Shaft and Junction Reefs Reserve - $4,510 Blayney Junior Soccer Club, Upgrade to facilities within the Napier Oval canteen-$4,040 Country Education Foundation Orange & District, Assistance with students living in Blayney Shire to pursue higher education - $5,000 Flagship Projects - 2023/24 Milthorpe & District Historical Society. Kitchen renovations at the Milthorpe Museum - $25,000 Blayney Golf Club, Machinery Shed extension - $14,520 Newbridge Progress Association, Covered walkway at Newbridge Showground-$24,864 The funding for the Financial Assistance Program comes from a Voluntary Planning Agreement with Flyers Creek Windfarm, where the funding goes towards community projects and revenue from Cadia Valley Operations (a previous SRV with Cadia). Our strategic planning highlights the importance of our community groups, their facilities and their contributions to our community. This program is an important support mechanism for these groups. Blayney Public Exhibition - Voluntary Planning Agreement and Classification of Land Following the January Ordinary Meeting, Council is seeking comment on the following document now on public exhibition: Voluntary Planning Agreement relating to the dedication of drainage and open space lands associated with Development Application 146/2021 being the Subdivision of Land into 56 Lots (52 Urban Residential Lots) at 1279 Milthorpe Road, Milthorpe. This document is available for viewing and downloading on Council's website www.blayney.nsw.gov.au/your-council/on-exhibtion Council News Public notice is also given for the intention to classify proposed Lot 231 as Operational Land and proposed Lot 323 as Community Land. Written submissions must be received prior to 5.00pm Friday 1 March 2024. Cemetery Pest Control Council pest control activities will commence next week in the Council Cemeteries. Local community organisations are invited to submit an application before Friday 15 March 2024. Applications lodged before Friday 1 March 2024 will be reviewed and applicants will be contacted in the event of any errors and/or omissions in an application.
