Each of the three handles represents the owner, trainer, and jockey - and this design has remained the same for an entire century. The Cup paid homage to its ancestral home 1.4 kilometres underground at Cadia with colleagues taking the chance to see and hold the famous trophy. As part of a national tour, the Cup is set to return to Orange later this year offering locals the chance to learn more about the history of the Cup and its connection to Newcrest, as it tours around Australia before making its way to Flemington Racecourse in Melbourne for the main event on Tuesday 3 November 2023.
