A Conversation with the GM Mark Dicker Blayney Shire Council Survey Open - Drought Resilience Planning Project In response to environmental challenges, Central West LGA's (Blayney, Cabonne, Cowra, Orange, Weddin) are working on the development of a Regional Drought Resilience Plan (funded by the NSW Government) and we need you. This Regional Drought Resilience Plan (RDRP) aims to identify innovative approaches to address the impacts of drought, to ensure that these communities are well equipped to face the challenges of drought and climate vulnerability. Drought resilience isn't just about water and farming; it's about safeguarding the livelihoods, well-being, and future of our regional communities. It is important that the whole community is engaged to create the RDRP as drought impacts every part of regional communities. Your insights will guide the development of our Regional Drought Resilience Plan, ensuring that it addresses the specific needs and concerns of our residents and fosters a sense of ownership and commitment among us all. Together, we will build a more resilient Central West region. Find the survey on the homepage of the Council website. Survey closes 3 May 2024. Survey Open - Millthorpe CBD Master Plan Community Consultation In 2021, community engagement was conducted to complete a Master Plan for the Millthorpe CBD, it was then endorsed by Council in 2022. Blayney Shire Council currently has grant funding to complete a detailed design for the Millthorpe CBD MasterPlan and commence construction on Stage 1. Following community consultation, the final plans and costings will influence how much of Stage 1 can be completed with this funding allocation. Blayney Shire Council has completed initial consultation with the landowners/business owners at the Victoria/Pym/Montgomery Street Intersection and is now looking to engage with the broader Millthorpe community. Council has launched a survey which includes screenshots from the plans and descriptions for different aspects of the design. Council would appreciate feedback to be provided on the following aspects: Pedestrian Ramps/Islands Parking Footpath Renewal Montgomery Street Upgrades Streetscapes/Beautification The detailed proposed plans and survey can be found on the homepage of our website or picked up from Council Office, Ashcrofts on Pym and Milthorpe Providore.
